HKIE President, Ir Joseph CHOI Kin Hung, delivered an inspiring speech at the President’s Reception, held at the IoD in London on 27 September 2016.
He opened his speech by telling the assembled audience, which included a host of industry leaders and distinguished guests, the contribution HKIE have made to the professionalism of Hong Kong in the past 40 years. He was proud of Hong Kong engineers’s “Can Do” attitude and believe the future is bright for the young members of HKIE. He continued to introduce the “One Belt, One Road” initiative. The initiative would benefit 4.4 billion people and create stunning US$21 trillion in economical return. President Choi believed that engineers in Hong Kong could play an essential role in the initiative and will help building world class infrastructure and enhancing international cooperation.
He added that HKIE Hi-Tech Fiesta has been a huge success. It is important to inspire young people to join engineering and help building a better future.
